Running A Web Site

Elements In Managing A Website

Managing a website can be easy or may involve some work.

If you have a static website, controlled by your website designer, the managing of your website is easy. When you want to make a change, you write it down, email it to your website designer and he will make the change. No hard work really.

The problem with this approach is that you actually ahve a dead website - no changes - and no attraction - Google refers to these websites as static websites and warned in June 2006 that these websites will find it dificult to be indexed and ranked in their search engine.

New Approach

The new approach with websites is to have a dynamic website. That means that you add a new page (or content) to your website at a rate of at least once a week.

You will find that (all of a sudden) you have created yourself a lot of work. All because you now have a dynamic website which actually receive visitors. And visitors cause you some work - they ask questions - and you have to answer them. You have to monitor comments - and some more…

Automation

Website automation is the way of the future. If you don’t automate some of the tasks on your website, you will spin yourself in such a cocoon, that you would never be able to take leave or live the life you actually wanted to.

There are various approaches and nuances in automating and running a website. You can see the categories of running a website here:
